Who doesn’t love food? As humans - especially as young college students - we constantly think about our next meal. We think about what type of food to make, whether to eat out at a restaurant, or if we should toss a Hot Pocket in a microwave and call it a day. Luckily, here at UCLA we boast the best dining halls across the country so students have it easy when it comes to choosing their next meal. Here are the top five dining halls at UCLA that you should definitely try!

5.) Rendezvous West

Coming in at number five is the Rendezvous (Rende) West dining hall! Rende West is located on The Hill at Rieber Terrace. It is open for lunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and for dinner from 5 p.m. to  9 p.m. all seven days of the week. The Rende West dining hall focuses on Latin-American cuisine such as tacos, burritos, quesadillas, and more. Students and guests are able to sit indoors or on the outside patio.

4.) Epicuria at Covel

Coming in at number four is Epicuria at Covel! This dining hall is located in the lower level of the Covel Commons dormitory. It is widely considered one of the most popular dining halls at UCLA. Epicuria at Covel serves Mediterranean-inspired food such as cuisines from Cyprus, France, Greece, Italy, and more. It is open Sunday through Friday, with lunch service available only on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

3.) Bruin Plate

Coming in at number three is Bruin Plate - commonly known as B-Plate! The Bruin Plate dining hall is considered to be the healthy dining hall and is a favorite to students who work out and are involved with other physical activities. This dining hall is located in the Carnesale Commons area. It offers a variety of seasonal and sustainable cuisine, focusing on fresh and nutritional foods. Some of its popular dishes include breast chicken, flatbread, shrimp, and its roasted Brussel sprout.

2.) The Study at Hedrick

Number two on this list is the Study at Hedrick! The Study at Hedrick feels like a cozy cafe mixed with a restaurant. Students can order varieties of things such as sandwiches, pizzas, salads, crepes, and more. This dining hall also has a bakery where students are able to order coffee, lattes, pastries, and even cakes! With that, the Study at Hedrick even offers a space where students are able to use discussion rooms, private study carrels, and tables to study and to work. It is open 24 hours a day so students can come in to study anytime they want!

1.) Epicuria at Ackerman

Last but not least, Epicuria at Ackerman! This dining hall is located at Ackerman Union on Level 1 and is the furthest away from all of the dining halls at UCLA. Just like Epicuria at Covel, Epicuria at Ackerman is also a Mediterranean inspired place. It offers a variety of freshly made food options such as pizzas, pastas, and salads. Unlike Epicuria at Covel, this dining hall has a relaxed ambience indoors and pays attention to each dish more carefully.
